YKK AP Acquires Thailand’s Largest Curtain Wall Company

YKK AP Inc. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Akira Uozu) announced the acquisition of Thailand-based curtain wall company, YHS International Ltd. (“YHSI”), and its related manufacturing company, Siam Metal Co., Ltd. (“SM”). With the acquisition, YKK AP will have its fourth worldwide curtain wall manufacturing base, accelerating its efforts to establish a stable global supply system and further expand its curtain wall business in the Asia region.

With the manufacturing facilities covering a site area of 26,089 square meters and a production capacity of approximately 180,000 square meters of curtain wall per year, YHSI and SM have been the industry leaders in the curtain wall market in Thailand. YHSI and SM design, manufacture, and distribute their curtain wall systems, and they also provide installation and maintenance services. In addition to contract work in Thailand, they have a track record of supplying their curtain wall systems to a number of large-scale projects in Japan. YKK AP established the Global Curtain Wall Business Division in April 2023 with the aim of contributing to quality urban spaces through world’s architectural projects with its products. The integration of YHSI and SM with the YKK AP Group will provide YKK AP with its fourth curtain wall manufacturing base to supply its curtain wall systems, following the Namerikawa Plant in Japan, the Suzhou Factory owned by YKK AP (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., China, and the Lakeshore Factory owned by Erie Architectural Products Inc., Canada. This strategic acquisition underlines YKK AP’s commitment to a stable global supply system and robust global supply chain.
