YKK AP Joins the Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (JCLP)

Corporations must work to cut CO₂ emissions in their own businesses and throughout their supply chains to mitigate climate change and create a sustainable, decarbonized society. To achieve its Purpose of “We Build a Better Society Through Architectural Products,” YKK AP actively works for co-existence with the environment as one of its priority issues. The company will reduce energy used in product manufacturing and decrease its indirect emissions, including raw material procurement. As a manufacturer of windows and other architectural products, YKK AP will also help cut CO₂ emissions by promoting the widespread use of vinyl windows and other high thermal insulation products that can lower energy consumption for heating and cooling buildings. 

YKK AP’s JCLP membership shows the world its intentions and actions to help build a decarbonized society according to the Paris Agreement. The company will contribute to sustainable global and regional development via its decarbonization initiatives.

JCLP is a Japanese corporate group founded in 2009, based on the industrial world’s healthy sense of danger about the need to build a decarbonized society, and believing that companies should start taking proactive actions. Its members number 236 renowned Japanese companies from a wide range of industries (as of April 2023), with total sales of roughly 143 trillion yen and total electricity consumption of approximately 73 TWh (reference/approximate values, including other countries). To achieve a decarbonized society, JCLP is a local partner of The Climate Group, an international non-profit organization, and serves as its contact point for the RE100, EV100, and EP100 campaigns.
